URL Shortner
Overview
CLiX automatically shortens long URLs to help you save space in SMS messages and avoid extra charges from multi-part texts.
Using CLiX’s URL shortener also unlocks enhanced analytics and control, like tracking link clicks and setting expiration times for URLs in your SMS campaigns.
URLs embedded in SMS messages are automatically detected and shortened by our system prior to delivery.
Once enabled, every message sent from your CLiX account via CXT, API, or any integration will be scanned for long URLs and automatically replaced with shortened ones.
Note :
Be sure to include a trailing slash (“/”) at the end of plain URLs in your SMS content. Without it, the URL may not be shortened. For example : https://www.clixsms.com/
How URL Shortener works
Before sending messages with URLs, your account must have URL sending enabled. This feature is turned off by default for new sign-ups. Please contact our Customer Success team to activate it.
- You can Enable or Disable the URL Shortener by going to the CXT Settings
- Set as Default Expiry Days (TTL) period.
Note : This setting defines how long the shortened URL remains active. The minimum time-to-live (TTL) is 7 days. Once expired, the link will redirect users to a 404 error page.
- URL shortening is configured per account. To use it, enable the setting within your CXT account preferences
